Shoreditch is very much a developing area at the moment. Lots of businesses are moving in and starting up. Lots of developments are being built. And there are a number of thriving restaurants, pubs and clubs. There is a popular Sunday Market along Bethnal Green Road. The housing stock consists of mainly converted warehouses and lofts and a number of new apartment blocks are also being built. Tower Bridge and Commercial Road are easy to get to. You are within walking distance of Brick Lane, there are lots of pubs, clubs and restaurants - notably the Great Eastern Dining Rooms and Cantaloupe. Uniquely there are two good American pool rooms. Shoreditch is also home to the Bishopsgate Goods Yard, home to the Braithewaite Viaduct. Created in 1839 the viaduct is one of the earliest pieces of major railway construction in the country.
